Bach's "St. John Passion"

Augustana University School of Music’s Bach Collegium Presents Johann Sebastian Bach’s ‘St. John Passion’

As part of the Sacred Arts Series at the Cathedral of St. Joseph, the Augustana University School of Music presents Johann Sebastian Bach’s “St. John Passion,” BWV 245, on Tuesday, April 15, at 7:30 p.m. Under the direction of Dr. David Chin, the performance is a collaboration between Augustana’s Bach Collegium and the Augustana Choir — bringing together some of the region’s finest musicians for an unforgettable evening of sacred music, drama and profound reflection.

Active Generations

Augustana University, Active Generations Partner to Promote Positive Aging, Lifelong Learning

Augustana University and Dr. Lucas Hamilton, assistant professor of psychology and director of the aging studies program, are partnering with Active Generations — a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting positive aging for adults. The partnership will kick off with the 2025 Lifelong Learning Program, where Hamilton will host a series of interactive TED Talk-style sessions at both of Active Generations’ locations. The sessions, which are scheduled to start in April, will focus on well-being, the power of music and brain health. Learn more at rpybbk.com/LifelongLearning.

Listening, Connecting and Having Fun Guide ASA Leaders, Strategic Plan in 2024-25: ‘I’m proud of the work we’ve done’

Augustana University and Sioux Falls have connected the 2024-25 Augustana Student Association (ASA) president and vice president in ways they never could have imagined. Persuaded to run for top ASA leadership positions by their peers, Annie Johnston '25 and Prince Adhikari '26 both needed a running mate and found each other. They had all the makings of a great team. And now, with a semester under their belt as president and vice president, listening, connecting and having fun is what has guided them through the academic year thus far.
